Music has long been an integral part of our lives. It is everywhere, and it accompanies us in all our actions and endeavors. Music not only affects our mood or creates an atmosphere, but first and foremost it is a reflection of an era. New names in the music industry appear as often as the weeks change. Not all of them will be on the ear long enough to be remembered, and even fewer will be able to boast the status of a world star. But those who have succeeded in doing so remain with us forever.
Everything flows and changes, some idols are replaced by others, but there are people whose popularity is very difficult to nullify because they became famous all over the world and continue to prove that they are worthy of it. A list of the most famous musicians can consist of hundreds or even thousands of names and surnames and cover different eras, countries, and continents.
Of course, a lot depends on musical preferences and tastes, however, today we have collected for you the logos of those musicians and bands that, in our opinion, have had the greatest impact on the music industry of modern art. Let’s take a closer look at them.
Billie Eilish
The logo in the form of a little man in a rather odd pose has become a real symbol of Billy. Its official name is Blōhsh. The singer herself does not give exhaustive comments on the topic of hidden meaning in the image. According to the versions of Billie Eilish fans vector emblem of a male silhouette is in motion (walking or dancing) and symbolizes the singer. There is no official information about who owns the idea and copyright for Blōhsh at the moment. Perhaps it is deliberately withheld to raise ratings and ignite more interest in the singer, her creativity, and her activities. The simple, uncomplicated, but original icon is easy to remember and is easily used as a logo practically everywhere.
David Bowie
One of the most colorful, empathetic, memorable artists of the last century – David Bowie – devoted more than 50 years of his life to music. He was called the chameleon of rock because of his constant transformations in music and appearance. Bowie’s stage images and musical experiments have influenced musicians of subsequent generations. One of the brightest alter egos of the musician was Ziggy Stardust, and the symbol of the star followed Bowie throughout his journey. So one of the most famous logos of the musician from the album Black Star – six symbols formed by fragments of a five-pointed star with a full figure in the second place.
Elvis Presley
American singer and actor, Elvis Presley is one of the most commercially successful popular music artists of the 20th century. In America, Presley was nicknamed the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” (or simply “The King”). He combined country and blues, giving birth to rockabilly, which marked his first recordings on Sun Records in the mid-1950s. The official logo of the musician represents his identity perfectly in just two elements — a solid black emblem depicting the Elvis silhouette (in one of his most recognizable poses) and the lettering, which is the signature of The King. Both elements are set in black and placed on a white background with no bright accents.
Imagine Dragons
Imagine Dragons is an American band whose genre is difficult to define in one word. Thanks to their unique musical style, which reflects elements of rock ‘n’ roll, indie rock, alternative movements, and pop music, the Dragons are so loved all over the world. The official logo of the band is based on stable and distinctive lettering, which is usually executed in a dark shade of gray on a plain white background. The geometric typeface of the inscription has some modifications, that make the logo memorable and recognizable: first of all, the vertical bar of the “D” is erased; secondly, the “M”, “A” and “G” in the “Imagine” are glued to each other, making up an interesting geometry of the whole badge.
Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar is the premier rapper of our time and one of the greatest hip-hop artists in history. He has long been a symbol of “smart” hip-hop, and his Pulitzer Prize for his album “DAMN.” was received in 2017, and this prize has officially confirmed this status. Before him, this award was not given to rappers or representatives of contemporary music — it was only given to classical musicians and jazz artists. As for the visual identity of the musician, here everything is also about uniqueness and individual expression. The logo of the rapper is a cursive handwritten lettering in two levels with clumsy and childish shapes of some characters. The primary color palette of the badge is black and white.
Nirvana
Nirvana is a legendary American rock band of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The songs of the band’s lead singer Kurt Cobain are in demand by the world music community to this day. The rock band was founded in 1987 in the small American town of Aberdeen, Washington. Designer Robert Fisher says he chose the logo for Nirvana from his student work. There is no meaning in the iconic yellow smiley face badge — it is just a tribute to acid fashion. There is a popular version that for this symbol Kurt Cobain was inspired by a strip club sign. Or he saw such a smiley face on graffiti under the bridge, where he once slept. But there is no confirmation of these legends.
Radiohead
The band Radiohead, pioneers of British alternative rock, radically changed their sound several times during their career, while remaining distinctive innovators. The frightening bear became Radiohead’s symbol in 2000 when the band had already become iconic. The bear was drawn by Radiohead’s resident artist Stanley Donwood. He first coined it for his daughter – the bear is mean because he’s hungry. Thom Yorke recounted that the bear was a mutant that came from the influence of GMO foods: “We were obsessed with the idea of mutation infiltrating human DNA. One episode of GMO Impact Magazine was about teddy bears that mutate and start eating children.”

In their long history, the band has won 7 Grammy Awards and released 13 studio albums. The band’s frontman Anthony Kiedis drew the band’s logo himself shortly before the release of the first album. Fans have long wondered why exactly the red octagonal star. Two main versions have been prioritized: a reference to a drawing by writer Michael Moorcock or another reference to Kurt Vonnegut’s starlet in the novel Breakfast for Champions. But Kiedis rejected those versions in his autobiography. It’s all a little more poetic: “It’s an angel in a sky hole when viewed from Earth.”
Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder, one of the founders and performers of classic soul and R&B music styles, was born in the town of Saginaw, Michigan on May 13, 1950, prematurely, with unstrengthened eye vessels, which caused blindness. The musicians of the band have chosen the same fundamental approach for their visual identity.
