STI Logo

STI is a brand of race cars, created by Subaru in 1988. STI became instantly recognizable after breaking the world’s speed record in the same year it was established. Today it is one of the most popular and respected high-performance car manufacturers.

Meaning and history

STI, standing for Subaru Tecnica International, is all about speed. And the brand’s visual identity is a perfect reflection of STI philosophy and values.

The STI logo is a graphical representation of the brand’s name with the inscription “Subaru Tecnica International” underneath it.

The STI wordmark is written with bold pink lines, contouring the white negative space of the lettering. While the letters “S” and “T” are straight, “I” is tilted at a 45-degree angle. It creates a sense of movement and speed.

STI Logo

The tagline is executed in a traditional sans-serif typeface with wide letters, smooth lines and angles, and enough space between the words.

The intense pink and gray color palette of the STI logo is remarkable and makes the brand stand out, as pink is not one of the most commonly used colors for the automobile industry. However, in the case of STI, this fuchsia tone adds passion and energy to the logo, harmonizing a modest and strict gray lettering of the tagline, which stands for professionalism and stability.
