Joylong produces a whole series of vehicles on the home market – from models for transporting VIPs to specialized vehicles like ambulances. In 2019, the company entered the European market as well, but outside of China, the brand’s range is represented only by a commercial all-metal van Joylong EW5, and a seven-seat van Joylong EF5.

Meaning and history

Chinese auto conglomerate Joylong (full name Jiangsu Joylong Automobile Co., Ltd.) was founded in 2007 and is based in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province.

Since it entered the domestic market, Joylong has successfully launched seven product series including Ifly electric cars, VIP premium family, commercial vehicles, Coaster small bus, special vehicles and logistics vehicles widely used in commerce, tourism, urban transportation, and special transportation.

Joylong Concern has vehicle export authorization from the Ministry of Commerce, several dozens of patents, and a large number of all kinds of awards, and its products are exported abroad to 59 countries and regions. However, in Europe, the brand is known for only two models: EW5 and EF5.

The Joylong EW5 is a rear-wheel drive all-metal wagon van that can hold up to 9.6 cubic meters and 2.5 tons of cargo. In the top version “Luxury” EF5 is equipped with seven airbags, three-zone climate control, electric driver’s seat adjustment, rearview camera, multimedia system with touch screen and ten speakers, and a sunroof with electric drive.

Joylong Logo

The Joylong logo is composed of an emblem and a lettering, set in a dark red shade. But when placed on the bonnet of the car, the emblem turns voluminous and glossy silver. One of the versions of the logo is based on the same concept — the three-dimensional emblem in metallic and flat red lettering.

The Joylong emblem is formed by two ticks, pointing at each other and enclosed into an oval frame. All elements of the emblem are outlined in thick red contours.

Joylong Emblem

The bold uppercase lettering from the primary logo of the Joylong brand is set in a classic sans-serif typeface with massive and stable characters, which feature distinctive contours and straight cuts of the bars. The closest fonts to the one, used in this insignia, are, probably, Arial Std Black or Arial Pro Black, although some characters also resemble URW Grotesk Bold lines.

As for the color palette of the Joylong visual identity, it is based on a dark burgundy shade of red, which is sometimes accompanied by silver. The color scheme of the brand looks very intense and evokes a sense of excellence and confidence.
