The Mahoning Valley Scrappers played their first official game in 1999. Part of the New York–Penn League, they are the Short-Season A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The team is based in Niles, Ohio.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers logo introduced in advance of the team’s inaugural season in 1999 featured a bulldog pitching a ball. The creature was wearing a helmet. At the forefront, there was the name of the team in grey.

While the focal point of the current logo is once again a bulldog wearing a helmet, this time it’s depicted in a completely different way. The dog is holding a bat in his teeth, and there’s the team name above.
