The logo of the Minor League Baseball team the Salem Red Sox emphasizes the connection to the parent team, the Boston Red Sox.
Meaning and history
The franchise was established in Salem, Virginia, in 1955. Today, it has the status of a farm team of the Boston Red Sox and plays in the Class A-Advanced Carolina League.
Symbol
The centerpiece of the Salem Red Sox logo is the pair of red socks “borrowed” from the parent team’s emblem. The franchise has also added a unique touch, though, by placing the socks over the background of a mountain range in blue. These are the Blue Ridge Mountains where Salem is located. One of the reasons why the mountains are present on the logo is that you can see them over the walls of Haley Toyota Field where the franchise plays its home games.
Cap emblem
A large dark blue “S” with a white outline is placed over the red background.
