Woolrich is an outdoor clothing company based in Pennsylvania, US. The company was founded in 1830 by John Rich and Daniel McCormick. It is known as the country’s oldest manufacturer of outdoor wear.
Meaning and history
The Woolrich logo features the name of the label in a generic sans with classic proportions. The Spartan style of the wordmark seems to echo the designs of the products offered by the brand. Woolrich is known for the unpretentious and utilitarian products.
We can also say that today fashion houses tend to opt for more austere logotypes than they used to several decades ago. Think of the Hugo Boss logo or the Avon logo as examples of this tendency.
