Tito’s is positioned as “Handmade Vodka”. Despite the fact that modern equipment is used for its production, the alcohol meets all the criteria of craft products. This vodka differs from its analogs in that it is of the highest quality, has a rich taste, and has a natural composition using selected ingredients. Tito’s Handmade Vodka claims to be gluten-free because it is produced entirely of corn and is distilled six times for smoothness and purity. The brand is also known for its philanthropic efforts, including support for animal welfare, veterans, and various community projects.
Meaning and History
Tito Beveridge, the creator of the brand, was born and raised in San Antonio. After traveling and working as a geologist, he settled in Austin. After registering a company in 1997, Tito worked alone at first. He spent all day pouring vodka by hand, capping bottles, and gluing paper labels to them. It took the company more than eight years to get on its feet. In 2001, Tito’s Handcrafted Vodka won a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Today, it remains one of America’s purest spirits.
What is Tito’s?
Tito’s is premium vodka from Texas. Handcrafted vodka is produced in Austin at the oldest legal distillery in the state – Fifth Generation. Tito’s Corn Vodka is craft vodka, which means that the spirit is made using original recipes, hand blending, and environmentally friendly ingredients.
1997 – 2010s
The brand’s name “Tito’s” is styled in a bold, friendly font, accompanied by the phrase “Handmade Vodka” underneath. The inscription has a classic and somewhat rustic appearance, which aligns with the brand’s identity as a craft spirit. Right in the center, the logo carries an oval emblem. It carries an image of vodka distillation equipment drawn in light orange on a dark brown background. The oval also has decorative spikes around its border. In addition, the company added that its vodka is “Award Winning” and “Distilled 6 Times”.
2010s – Today
The updated logo looks almost identical to the original version. When placing the two versions side by side, though, it becomes obvious that the orange color got significantly brighter. The brown color is also closer to the black. This little change made the company look well-established and trustworthy. Another small modification was the removal of inscriptions around the border of the oval emblem. As a result, the overall design is clean and straightforward.
Font and Color
The logo uses a custom serif font in its logo. The serif font with a vintage or handmade feel is somewhat similar to Canette font and Lucida Calligraphy, which is a cursive script typeface family designed by Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow. For the “Vodka” line, it uses CG Times Regular or similar font.
The original color palette consisted of brown, orange, and white. The latter was removed when the logo was updated. The logo uses warm, earthy tones to evoke a sense of handcrafted quality and authenticity. After all, brown is typically linked to the earth and natural materials, which shows that the company focuses on using natural ingredients in its beverages. The orange adds a touch of adventure as well as friendliness.
