Meaning and history

Milagro Tequila, translating to “miracle” in Spanish, has a history that’s both rich and relatively recent. Founded in 1998 by two friends, Danny Schneeweiss and Moy Guindi, they set out to create a tequila that embodied the spirit and passion of modern-day Mexico City. With an aim to fuse traditional practices with innovative techniques, Milagro quickly distinguished itself in the tequila world.

The brand’s distinctive feature is its emphasis on the purity of the Blue Weber Agave. Utilizing a unique dual-process method, they combined the age-old tahona process with the more modern roller mill method, ensuring a smoother and cleaner tequila.

The design of Milagro’s bottles, too, tells a story. Reflecting the core values of the brand, the bottles are crafted to capture the vibrancy and dynamism of Mexico’s culture, with the Select Barrel Reserve line featuring an agave plant inside each bottle – a nod to the brand’s deep respect for its raw material.

In 2004, as Milagro’s reputation and demand grew, it caught the attention of the spirits conglomerate, William Grant & Sons. Recognizing the brand’s potential and the founders’ dedication to quality, they acquired Milagro, giving it a platform to reach global markets.
