Meaning and history
2002 – 2014
A large dark blue bison was the centerpiece of the old Howard Bison logo adopted in 2002. The creature was moving to the right and had an elongate red shape over its body.
2015 – Today
In 2015, the team adopted a new logo. Due to the fact it depicted only the bison’s muzzle, the updated Howard Bison logo became more emotional.
Howard Bison basketball
The men’s basketball team of Howard University has participated in the NCAA Tournament on two occasions. They have appeared in the Division I College Basketball Invitational one time. The women’s team has competed in five NCAA Tournaments.
Howard Bison soccer
The Howard Bison has been the home for five first-team All-Americans.
