The University of Texas at San Antonio sponsors 17 varsity teams known as UTSA Roadrunners or just the “UTSA”, “Roadrunners”, and “Runners.”
Meaning and history
1996 – 2007
The former Texas-SA Roadrunners logo, which was introduced in 1996, showcased an angled view of a bird’s head. The bird had blue feathers and a very prominent beak colored in a muted shade of orange. The abbreviation “UTSA” in dark blue could be seen below.
2008 – Today
The following logo was unveiled in 2008 and it is still in use. While the bird looks very much like its predecessor, there are a lot of differences. The typography appears to have been refined, too.
