The logo, its meaning and history
The current logo has been developed some time ago. It is very simple and short, just the brand name in block letters: “SKF”. The letters are written in a specially designed font, rather thick and rough. The colour used for the wordmark is dark admiral blue tone.
The name of the company, which from the essence of the logo, is an abbreviation standing for Svenska Kullagerfabriken (SKF), which means in Swedish “Swedish Ball Bearing Factory”. It is associated with the company’s mission, which, according to its web site, is to fulfil in the most effective and sustainable way the task of reducing friction to enable machines of the customers to run faster, cleaner, longer and more safely. SKF policy is aimed at long-term success and creating a positive impact.
