The other two lines feature a more rounded font that has a carefree and relaxed feel. The two lines are indented to the right, creating a diagonal line on the left. In the lower right corner, the logo features a graphic, bold screw nut design. The whole emblem is done in a black-and-white color palette.

Mountain Hardwear Logo

The logo looks very similar to the earlier version, which provides brand recognition. At the same time, the designer was able to give it a more balanced and put-together look. The screw nut has been turned sideways and slightly enlarged. The words “Hard Wear” are adjusted to the left, creating a rectangular brand image and leaving minimal empty space. The font for these two lines has also changed as the strokes got smoother and provided a more minimalistic design. It is also worth noting that the top line also got bolder and now features an even stroke thickness for a cohesive feel.

Font and Color

Mountain Hardwear Emblem

The company used two distinct fonts in the logo. One of them is a sans-serif font with clean, straight strokes and moderate stroke contrast. Later, the font features even stroke thickness. It resembles Rleud SC Bold font and FamiliarPro-Bold font. The other font used in the logo resembles a handwritten, italicized font called Mistral Std font. It was later replaced by a smoother and cleaner font similar to Brother Janu Italic font.

Throughout the years, the color palette remained unchanged. It was predominantly black and had a transparent background. This allowed the design to stand out no matter where it was placed. In addition, black once again proved to be a timeless and universal color. Moreover, this color is associated with the strength and determination of the athletes as well as the tough conditions that the products can withstand.
