Meaning and history
1982 – 1990
The previous Indiana State Sycamores logo (1982) sported a sycamore tree, which also looked like the leaf of this tree.
1991 – 2019
In 1991, the athletic program decided to leave the botanic theme behind. Instead, they adopted a new Indiana State Sycamores logo featuring the map of Indiana.
2020 – Today
Indiana State Sycamores basketball
The men’s basketball program of Indiana State University is proud of its achievements, including:
- the NCAA Division I Tournament: four appearances
- the National Invitation Tournament: four appearances
- the College Basketball Invitational: one appearance
- the CollegeInsider.com Tournament: one appearance
- the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament: three appearances
The women’s team is coached by Vicki Hall.
Indiana State Sycamores baseball
The baseball program, which started in 1896, uses Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium as its home arena. The head coach is Mitch Hannahs.
