FaZe Clan is the name of a professional gaming team, which was founded in 2010, and consists of members from all around the world. The team participates in various esports championships, including tournaments in such video games as Call of Duty, FIFA, PUBG Mobile, and many others.
Meaning and history
FaZe Clan is a famous North American esports team that is mostly known for its Call of Duty roster. FaZe Clan was created in 2020 as FaZe Sniping, by famous YouTube figures — the FaZe ClipZ group. At the moment, this organization has almost the largest number of YouTube subscribers in the world. The channel of the team reached one million subscribers already in 2012 when it was a truly rare thing.
FaZe Clan competes in the following video-game disciplines: Call of Duty, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA and FIFA Online, Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, and original PUBG, Rocket League, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant.
What is FaZe Clan?
FaZe Clan is an organization, composed of professional video gamers from all over the world. The esports team was established in 2010 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, but is absolutely international. The team competes in various video gaming disciplines but is mostly known for its Call of Duty achievements.
In terms of visual identity, the esports team FaZe Clan is very edgy and minimalistic. The official badge of the club consists of just one element, and it has been like that since the current name of the team was adopted.
2010
FaZe Clan was initially known as FaZe Sniping, but under that name, the team only existed for several months. Although, there was a separate logo, designed for it in 2010. It was a three-dimensional two-leveled inscription, executed in a silver, black and gold color palette, with the uppercase lettering written in a sharp geometric sans-serif font, with many angles. The upper line was set in black with a bright yellow outline, while the bottom “Sniping” was drawn in silver shades with a bold black outline and shadow.
2010 – 2016
After the rename of the team into FaZe Clan, the new logo was introduced at the end of 2010. It was a stylized geometric monogram with one vertical bar, the long too horizontal, the short horizontal one coming to the left under the top one, and the shortest one coming to the right, closer to the bottom triangle pointing down. The symbol looked like both the “F” and the “Z”, from the name of the team. It was set in flat red, with no additional colors or elements.
January – March 2016
In January 2016 FaZeClan decided to play with colors. The badge, designed in 2010 in solid red was now contoured in black and had its body painted in three diagonal segments: yellowish gold, scarlet red, and navy blue, from top to bottom respectively. However, this logo stayed in use by the team for just a couple of months.
2016 – 2018
After another redesign or 2016, the tricolor from the previous version was slightly reworked. Now the main, bottom part, of the monogram was set in red, with the blue and gold used for thinner stripes of top. As for the overall style and shape, it all remained the same, with the thick black outline adding strength and readability.
2018 – 2021
Another redesign of the FaZe Clan badge has brought black contouring to the bold and sharp emblem, introduced in 2010. The shade of red became a bit lighter, which created a stronger contrast with the black outline. Also, the lines were slightly refined, so the horizontal bars for a bit shorter and wider.
January – November 2021
The shade of red was intensified at the beginning of 2021. The logo has kept its shape and contours, but with the brighter red it became more dramatic and aggressive, evoking a sense of power and showing FaZeClan as a serious competitor.
2021 – 2025
In December 2021 the FaZeClan logo was redesigned again, yet this time it was somewhat more significant. The iconic sharp monogram emblem was drawn in a smaller size and placed against a transparent background above the bold black wordmark, written in the uppercase of a progressive sans-serif terrace where the rails of the bars featured sharp diagonal cuts, and some of the angles were rounded.
2025 – Today
The redesign of 2025 has removed the lettering, which appeared on the FaZeClan logo only in 2021. Yet that was not the only change: the sharp stylized monogram was significantly redrawn. Now it is a solid black element, which has its contours reworked. The ends of the bars got more pointed and some of the elements, on the contrary, softened, making up a very interesting geometric contrast.
Font and color
The sharp geometric FaZe Clan badge does not contain any lettering on it, as its stylized abstract monogram perfectly represents the mood and determination of the club, and does not need any helpers.
The black and red color palette of the FaZe Clan visual identity represents passion and power and shows the approach of the team and its determination to the gaming process. It looks energetic, dramatic, and a bit dangerous.
