While professional baseball in Clinton started in 1895, it was only in 1954 that the LumberKings were officially founded (under the name of the Clinton Pirates). The team changed its name more than five times before adopting the current one in 1994.
Meaning and history
Since 1994, the logo of the baseball team the Clinton LumberKings has gone through only one minor update.
1994 — 2004
Both the original Clinton LumberKings logo and the updated one featured the word “LumberKings” in a green script with a wood texture. On the old logo, the dot above the “i” was replaced by a baseball with a grey and green crown.
2005 — Today
On the 2005 logo, the grey part of the crown was colored yellow. All the rest remained unchanged. Again, the word “Clinton” in black could be seen above the larger green “LumberKings” script.
