Meaning and history

Bemidji State Beavers Logo history

The Bemidji State Beavers logo features the university’s mascot known under the name of Bucky Beaver. To be precise, there is the side view of the beaver’s head. In contrast to the emblems of many other sports teams, the animal doesn’t look menacing at all. On the contrary, it’s pretty calm and yet determined. The head is facing slightly up, which can symbolize optimism.

The beaver’s head is housed inside two curves forming an ellipsoid. The curves are dark green.
