Meaning and history

Austin Peay Governors Logo history

1992 – 2013

Austin Peay Governors Logo-1992

The Austin Peay Governors logo adopted in 1992 sported stylized letters “A” and “P.” What made the emblem stand out was the unusual shape of the glyphs. Although they weren’t symmetrical, they were drawn in such a way that the curves mirrored each other. Moreover, they would have formed a single shape if not for the gap between the letters. Anyway, in spite of the fact it was just a typographical logo, it had implied motion.
