1965 – 1984

Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers Logo-1965
The Panthers’ logo from the 1960s — 1980s looked more amateur than professional. It was a cartoonish drawing of a black panther, standing on two feet and wearing a soft white turtleneck sweater with the bold black “UWM” abbreviation on the chest. The mascot of the team smiles dreamily with its big eyes raised upward. It was the only element on the badge, which stayed with the Panthers for almost twenty years.

2002 – 2010

The logo of the Wisconsin Milwaukee Panthers teams, introduced in 2002, was somewhat completely different from the cute and fun badge created in 1965. Now it is a determined and menacing creature, drawn in profile inside a yellow ellipse with a black trim. The emblem with a black and white wild cat is placed between the two parts of the program’s name, written in bold black capitals with a white and yellow outline. The bottom, the “Panthers” line was also decorated by thin white strokes as if those were the cat’s claw traces.

2011 – Today

The redesign of 2011 has made the powerful logo more laconic and contemporary. The Panther was redrawn in a refined way, with white strokes replaced by gray ones, and the contours softened and cleaned up. As for the lettering, it was reduced to just one line — “Milwaukee”, written in a wavy line under the emblem and executed in the uppercase of the same extra-bold geometric sans-serif as in the previous version.
