Viessmann is a German company, specializes in the design and manufacturing of the heating and cooling systems. The company was established in 1917 by Johann Viessmann and is fully owned and managed by his family until today. The brand has its production sites in twelve countries across the globe and its operating offices on all the continents.

Meaning and history

The simple and strict Viessmann visual identity looks modern and progressive, despite the simplicity of its shapes and absence of any details except for logotype. The text-based badge of the company reflects its character and values, showing the fundamental approach and accent on the quality of the products.

The red and white color palette of the emblem is a reflection of power, energy and progressive attitude of the corporation, alongside loyalty and reliability, which white color symbolizes.

Logo Viessmann

The iconic Viessmann logo was designed by a famous German artist and graphic designer, Anton Stankowski in 1969 and hasn’t been changed by today, as it became a true symbol of the company and an essential part of its philosophy. The logotype is simple and clean, but has one detail that makes it instantly recognizable — the double “S”. Letters are placed vertically one above another.

The signature nameplate in all the capitals is executed in a traditional sans-serif typeface, which is very close to Enamelplate B font, with straight neat lines and distinct letter cuts. Both “S” of the inscription are customized — they boast smooth sleek lines and resemble two snakes.

The typeface of the wordmark is a reflection of professionalism stability and confidence of a huge reputable corporation, which values its heritage and has a strong connection with its past, though it is willing to step into the future.
