Texas Southern Tigers Logo PNG
Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, sponsors 16 varsity teams, both men’s and women’s.
Meaning and history
2000 – 2008
The design teams that developed both the old and the new logotypes opted for the tiger as the most obvious symbol. The old Texas Southern Tigers logo, which was adopted in 2000, featured the side view of a tiger’s head housed in a grey triangle with the maroon border. The word “Tigers” below was also given in grey letters with maroon trim.
2009 – Today
On the 2009 logo, which was unveiled in 2009, the side view of the tiger’s head has grown much smaller. This time, the letters “S,” “T,” and “U” were also present.
