Meaning and history
Being one of the world’s largest firearms manufacturers, Springfield Armory boasts a very recognizable visual identity. The company’s logo still uses the emblem from the very beginning of the company’s history, though the new simplified logotype is being in use more and more often.
The iconic Springfield Armory emblem depicts two crossed cannons with a black cannonball and a circle with an inscription, featuring a flame image on its top part.
The inscription around the frame’s perimeter includes the brand’s name in its top part and the “Since 1974” lettering in the bottom.
The wordmark in all the capitals is executed in a bold sans-serif typeface, which is clear and neat, with solid shapes, evoking a sense of stability and strength.
The Springfield Armory logotype, which is used on its own today, featured a modern geometric sans-serif. It has bold lines and pointed angles of the straight cut letter edges. The inscription looks masculine and sharp.
The monochrome color palette of the Springfield Armory logo shows the company as stable and professional, creating a sense of stability and confidence in today and power and energy in moving forward.
