Meaning and history
2001 – 2011
On the previous logo, which was unveiled in 1999, everything was more transparent. The cougar was depicted with its mouth open, and there was the name of the team in the forefront.
2012 – Today
The current SIU Edwardsville Cougars logo is pretty abstract. Most likely, you would not be able to determine which creature it depicts judging only by its looks – you need the name of the program, which is written below, for this. The abstract color patches could have been a bird.
