1988 – 2013
The logo, designed for Sichuan Airlines in 1988, has not only stayed with the air carrier for the longest part of its history but also became a prototype for the next redesign. Executed in a blue and white color palette, the original badge featured a combination of an enlarged emblem with a bird flying above an ornament of wavy lines, enclosed into a circular frame, and a two-leveled lettering written under in simple yet elegant characters.
2013 – Today
The redesign of 2013 has changed the color palette of the Sichuan Airlines logo to red-on-white and slightly refined the composition. The emblem moved to the left part of the badge, yet kept all the original elements. As for the text part, the Chinese version of the company’s name was enlarged and softened, while the English variant gained thicker lines and straighter cuts.
