The redesign of 1972 has switched the color palette of the Alaska Airlines logo to blue and white, making it more logical in terms of the weather conditions in the state. It was still the horizontally-oriented rectangle in a solid color, with a white two-leveled inscription, but the typeface was switched to a more geometric one, and both levels were set in the same size.
