Logo Shedd Aquarium

The Shedd Aquarium visual identity is based on color and shapes. The logo is composed of a wordmark with an emblem above it.

The wordmark is built in two levels with the “Shedd” part enlarged and executed in a sans-serif typeface with simple and elegant lines. The “Aquarium” inscription, placed in the bottom of the logo, is executed in all capital letters with the use of the same font.

The wordmark is colored deep blue, which is accompanied by a brighter shade of the emblem. The Shedd Aquarium emblem is a solid turquoise-blue circle with a white curve, resembling a wave.

It is a simple yet very strong and modern visual identity, which fully represents the organization’s profile. The two different shades of blue evoke a sense of reliability and safety, celebrating our planet, its nature, and the sea.
