Patrol is the name of a footwear brand, which offers shoes for the whole family. The company was established in the middle of the 1990s in Russia, and by today has grown into a large company with several sun-brands, which are also engaged in footwear production.
Meaning and history
Patrol is a Russian brand with Swedish roots, known for the production of casual and sports footwear for men, women, and kids. The history of the brand traces back to the 1970s when it was established in Sweden. The original style of the brand’s shoes was chosen in the very beginning.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the footwear manufacturer was bought by a Russian company, so Patrol got an opportunity to show itself on the new market, and it did use it on maximum. Today Patrol is a company with four sub-brands, which are all engaged in footwear production, and follow the main principle of the company: comfort and quality.
What is Patrol?
Patrol is a Russian footwear brand, which was established in the 1990s. The label is known for casual and sports shoes for the whole family. The brand has Scandinavian roots, as its predecessor was founded in Sweden in 1960, and acquired by the Russian company in 1992.
In terms of visual identity, the brand is bold and stable, using a massive logotype as the core of its emblem. The badge evokes a sense of strength and confidence, just like the shoes of the brand, which are designed with an emphasis on comfort and safety.
1992 – Today
The design of the Patrol logo is based on a generic sans serif typeface. The ends and angles on the glyphs are slightly rounded, like on the Yeezy logo, although the glyphs in the Patrol wordmark are somewhat different in terms of their proportions (they are wider). You can come across a logo featuring a helmet above the wordmark.
Earlier, the company used a somewhat different emblem. It featured the name of the brand in a serif type with a more detailed emblem above.
