Dialpad is a cloud-based communication and collaboration platform designed for businesses. It primarily offers VoIP services, along with features such as video conferencing, messaging, and team collaboration tools. The platform is known for its user-friendly interface and integration capabilities with various productivity and customer relationship management software. Dialpad continues to evolve today. It is introducing more advanced features and capabilities, focusing on user experience, and adapting to the changing needs of the businesses it serves.
Meaning and History
Dialpad was founded in 2013 by Craig Walker. Craig Walker was previously a co-founder of GrandCentral, a call management service that became Google Voice. Over the years, Dialpad attracted significant investment, which allowed the company to expand its features and user base. By the late 2010s, Dialpad became strong enough to compete with other big companies in the same sphere. The company continued to innovate its platform through partnerships and strategic acquisitions.
What is Dialpad?
Dialpad is a cloud-based communication platform that provides various services, including voice calls, video conferencing, messaging, and collaboration tools with AI features. It aims to improve team communication and enhance customer engagement.
2011 – 2019
The logo features the service’s name printed using a sentence case and slightly rounded sans-serif font. The rounded terminals create an image of a user-friendly and accessible platform. At the same time, the simplicity of this logo design is meant to communicate how the platform simplifies the communication between teams and/or companies and customers. The name is accompanied by four vertical lines of varying length and placement height. They create an association with the communications industry, while their rounded ends go well with the inscription.
2019 – Today
The new logo is much more vibrant and modern-looking. The company replaced the classic black with a bright blue. Instead of vertical lines, the name is now accompanied by two bold and enlarged quotation marks. As for the Inscription itself, the designer used all lowercase letters and turned to a sans-serif font with straight cuts. Otherwise, the font closely resembles the one introduced originally. This makes it seem that it was merely adjusted to modernize the logo.
Font and Color
Grold Rounded Regular, Bilage Bold by 160 Studio, or a similar font has been used for the 2011 version of the logo. For the logo introduced in 2019, the designer used Espial Regular 13 font for Windows in TrueType or similar font.
The original logo features a timeless and classic color palette with black being the main color and white serving as the base. The black is a powerful color that creates an image of a professional and respectable company. The blue, which is seen later, is a better choice as it not only stands for stability and authority but also is closely related to communication and trust.
