Captain Marvel is a fictional superhero, owned by Marvel. There have been several versions of this character, but the most prominent is a female superhero with powers of flight, superhuman power and other powers. The character was brought to the spotlight in 2019 after the release of the ‘Captain Marvel’ movie.
Meaning and History
Marvel has been publishing comics featuring this superhero since the 1960s. The story of this character alters from release to release, but it’s usually a powerful entity, originally from Earth but with connections to various galactic factions. Captain Marvel has superhuman strength and stamina, she can fly at half the speed of sound, and she can shoot energy charges from her hands.
Carol Danvers was first introduced to readers in 1968, but then she took the name Ms. Marvel. Only many years later, in 2012, in a new series of comics, she was given a new pseudonym, Captain Marvel.
When she was a little girl, Carol Danvers dreamed of becoming an astronaut and exploring space. However, Carol’s aspirations for higher education were thwarted by her father, who chose to send her younger brother Steve to college instead. Despite the setback, Carol graduated from high school at the top of her class and enlisted in the United States Air Force when she turned eighteen. She was later noticed by the CIA as well.
Years later, the girl ended up at NASA, where she met a representative of the alien Kree race named Mar-Vell. It was as a result of merging her genetic structure with the structure of Mar-Vell that Danvers got her superpowers. That is, Carol Danvers at one point became a hybrid of a Kree and a human. However, in the movie, the story of the origin of Carol Danvers’ abilities is radically different from the one described in the comics.

The movie logo depicts the words ‘Captain Marvel’, written in two lines of red text with slight golden outlines. The former is placed a bit above, in smaller letters. Between the two, there is a bright effect similar to an explosion or a sunrise. There’s usually a small Marvel Studios logo placed above this emblem.
Font and color
The three-dimensional lettering from the Captain Marvel logo is set in a clean and distinctive geometric sans-serif typeface, which is pretty close to such fonts as Town 20 Bold and Baro Bold, but with some modifications, such as, for example, the diagonal cut of the horizontal bar in the “L”.
As for the color palette of the Captain Marvel visual identity, it is composed of gold and dark-red gradients, which look sleek and bright on a white background, with thin yellow-gold lines adding shine and gloss to the composition.
