California Community College Athletic Association, established in 1929, by today has grown into one of the most reputable sports organizations in its state, with more than a hundred college members. Based in Sacramento, the Association holds matches and championships for 26 thousand students participants.
Meaning and history
California Community College Athletic Association is an American organization; which allows almost 26 thousand student-athletes to compete in various sports disciplines. The association was founded at the end of the 1920s, and by today it gained 108 Colleges as its members.
The CCCAA schedule includes a really impressive number of sports disciplines — 15, and almost all of them have both men’s and women’s teams participating. Here the colleges from all over the state compete in popular disciplines, such as Baseball, Basketball, and Football (both Rugby and Soccer), along with the kinds of sport, which are not so widespread — Waterpolo, Wrestling, Cross Country and others.
What is California Community College Athletic Association?
California Community College Athletic Association, or simply CCCAA, was established in Sacramento in 1929, and today is considered to be the largest and most reputable sports organization for college athletes in California State. The association has 108 members.
As for the visual identity, CCCAA is not very experimental and edgy. The association uses the badge, designed for it years ago, and only slightly refines and cleans it from time to time. The original version features gradient shades on the bodies of the letters, while the newer ones use plain blue colors and flat shapes.

The California Community College Athletic Association logo may seem somewhat weird because it features three letters “C” and two letters “A” (the initials of the letters forming the name of the association). The unusual combination looks a bit as if a kid was typing letters on a computer.
To the right, there’s an emblem depicting a side view of a student’s head and the outline of the map of California state. There’re also horizontal stripes creating the illusion of motion.
The CCCAA lettering on the badge of the Association is executed in a traditional yet strong sans-serif typeface, which is pretty close to such fonts as Heading Now 57 ExtraBold Italic and Neue Helvetica 107 Condensed Extra Black Oblique.
