Busch is a U.S. beer brand that is known beyond the country’s borders. Tradition, quality ingredients, and a crisp, refreshing flavor have all contributed to the long and distinguished history of the brand. Besides brewing a high-quality and great-tasting beer, the company is committed to sourcing ingredients locally, supporting US farmers each year. It also invested over $1 billion in total in responsible drinking programs that have been available since 1985. Other services include providing canned drinking water to those who were affected by natural disasters.
Meaning and History
The Busch Beer brand was originally known as Busch Bavarian Beer. It was made by Anheuser-Busch starting in 1955. The name was changed in 1979 to Busch Beer. Over the years, the company introduced different beers, including Busch Light in 1989 and non-alcoholic Busch NA in 1994. To further strengthen its position in the market, the company emphasized that the beer is best enjoyed outdoors by designing a camo packaging. It is worth noting that Busch was the first company to certify its products U.S. Farmed.
What is Busch?
Anheuser-Busch is one of the most recognizable beer companies in America, having been founded over 165 years ago. It is the industry leader in beer in the United States and Busch Beer is one of its many brands.
1995 – 2013
The Busch Beer logo features the word “Busch” in bold, uppercase letters placed on a diagonal. The logo is done in a blue, red, and white color scheme, reflecting a sense of tradition, quality, and leadership. The main color is blue, while the red and white serve as accents. They are used to create an outline around each character and add a shadow. There is also a red line that underlines the word “Busch” and has “Beer” printed on its end using a small, sans-serif font.
2013 – 2016
The style of the updated logo looks quite unexpected. The letters are still bold and have serifs. However, they feature funky, uneven strokes with some edginess. The color palette has also changed to black and golden. The inscription is placed straight and the word “Beer” is centered at the bottom. The brand looks appealing to individuals who are ready for adventures, brave, and strong.
2016 – Today
The new logo looks more sophisticated and presents the brand as a well-established and respected company. Although the inscription is still done in the same color palette, the letters are rendered in a clean, serif font, giving it a modern yet classic look. Above the word “Busch,” there is now a depiction of a mountain range. It symbolizes the brand’s association with the outdoors and natural ingredients used for brewing Busch Beer. The whole logo is done as a round seal with the establishment place and date as well as the “Brewed in U.S.A” tagline. This version enhances the outdoor aesthetic of the brand and is a nod to the brewing heritage.
Font and Color
The earlier Busch Beer logo conveys a sense of reliability and American spirit thanks to the use of red, blue, and white. Later, the company switched to a black and golden color palette, although the blue came back quite soon. The black color gave it a solid and confident look, underlining its classic, long history. The golden is not only the color of the beverage but also a symbol of the exceptional quality of the beer.
The logo introduced in 1995 features a bracketed slab serif, bold, and italicized font similar to Clayton Bold Italic or Amery Bold Italic by Bay Animation Inc. In 2013, it was changed to a bold font that resembles the Sincopa Ella font, while the “Beer” part is printed using a font that looks like Sugar Bold font. The recent logo uses a bold font with fine serifs, such as Silverado Bold Condensed font.
