Busch Light is one of the lower-price beers produced by the Anheuser-Busch company. This classic-tasting, light-bodied American beer has fewer calories. Premium American-grown and imported hops are combined with outstanding barley malt, fine grains, and fresh water to create this lager beer’s pleasing, well-balanced flavor. Since 1955, this recipe has been unaltered. Subtle hops, rice, and cereal flavors and scents are unique characteristics of this classic beer.

Meaning and History

Busch Light first appeared in 1989, ten years after Busch Bavarian Beer became Busch Beer. It was sold as Busch Light Draft, but the “Draft” part of the name was removed in 1994. The brand’s name is a combination of the founder’s last name and the word “Light”, which references a lower calorie count. The fewer calories and lighter body are achieved by brewing it for longer. This way, the company is also able to preserve a classic beer taste.

What is Busch Light?

Busch Light Logo

The Busch Light logo takes the Busch Beer logo as the base. The designer made the whole color palette much lighter to reflect the lower alcohol content. The name is split between two lines where “Busch” is printed in a larger font across the center of the round emblem and “Light” is added in a slightly smaller font. A brighter golden color around the inscription and emblem was replaced by silver. The silver is also added as a shadow on the mountain. The fact that the logo looks a lot like the earlier, well-recognized brand of the company helped the new product gain recognition much faster.

Font and Color

Busch Light Emblem

The brand name is printed in bold, uppercase letters and features elegant, tapered serifs. This font is also seen in the Busch Beer logo. It can be replicated with a font such as Silverado Bold Condensed font.

The color palette used in the logo is light and airy. The blue, silver, and white colors convey a sense of reliability and approachability. It is also closely associated with nature, where the beverage is promoted to be used. The logo looks modern and sophisticated at the same time.
