Zipcar is a subsidiary of the American Avis company, which is specialized in car-sharing services. The business was established in 2000. Today it is one of the most popular vehicle rentals providers in the country.
Meaning and history
The Zipcar logo is pretty minimalist yet recognizable. It is composed of a wordmark and an emblem that can be placed on both sides of the inscription, as well as used on its own, as an icon.
The wordmark in all lowercase lettering is executed in a simple sans-serif font with skittle rounded shapes of the letters and a square dot above the “I”. The nameplate is complimented by a tagline “Wheels when you want them”, written in thin delicate typeface, using the lowercase lettering as well.
The Zipcar emblem is a green circle with the letter “Z” inside. “Z” has an elongated tail, which is split into three thin lines of different lengths. There is also a black circle, symbolizing a wheel. The driving “Z” represents vehicles, speed, and movement.
The green, white and black color palette of the logo symbolizes energy and balance, it shows the reliable and thrust worry company, which aims to provide their customers with the best quality of service.
