Zevia offers plant-based drinks that are sugar-free. Its products contain no calories, artificial sweeteners, or colors. It is a healthier alternative to traditional sodas that is appreciated by people who want to cut sugar consumption. Zevia’s product range includes energy drinks, sparkling waters, and a number of flavors that are inspired by classic soft drinks, like cola, ginger ale, lemon-lime, and root beer. Besides promoting a healthier lifestyle, the company has also engaged in sustainability efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
Meaning and History
Zevia was founded in 2007 by Derek Newman, Jessica Newman, and Ian Eisenberg. The brand emerged to meet a growing consumer demand for beverages that are free from artificial sweeteners and high-calorie sugars. In 2013, the company expanded its product line. It added energy drinks, sparkling water, and other types of beverages to the existing sodas. To further promote the brand, the company became more environmentally conscious. As of now, Zevia continues to evolve and cater to the growing demand for healthier, naturally sweetened beverage options. The brand name is a play of words as one of the key ingredients is stevia.
What is Zevia?
Zevia is a brand of sugar-free soft drinks with zero calories and natural sweeteners. The product line includes a wide range of energy and carbonated drinks, as well as organic tea and mixers.
2007 – 2023
The Zevia logo features the brand name “Zevia” written in a bold, modern font with interesting terminals. The contemporary look is mainly achieved with the use of diagonal, slightly arched terminals as well as the slanted letter “e”. The inscription is done in a forest green color with a vibrant green added as two leaves above the “i”. The leaves are meant to emphasize the brand’s focus on natural ingredients. Overall, the design is clean and inviting.
2023 – Today
Created by Turner Duckworth, the logo design is now simpler, cleaner, and more visually appealing. Although there are no elements in the logo besides the name, the font choice gives it a unique and distinctive look. The designer was inspired by the natural shape of leaves when creating a new custom font. The rounded ends and geometry of the Zevia logo are reminiscent of leaves, which are no longer present in the logo. The green shade has also been modified slightly.
Font and Color
The green color used in the logo symbolizes the natural and health-conscious ethos of the brand. Although the two logo versions use different shades of green, they are both quite dark and deep. This instantly elevates the look and reflects the high quality of the beverages sold under this brand. Such a color palette is surely appealing to health-conscious consumers.
The original logo uses a font that is very similar to Qailbert Regular by Dicubit. It features a slanted “e” as well as diagonal, arched terminals. Later, the company switched to a similar but more modern font. It closely resembles Blue Angel by CreativeMediaLab.
