The athletic logo of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, may seem somewhat cluttered. And yet, you cannot say that it lacks individuality and style.
Meaning and history
The university has been pretty consistent in its brand identity – the Wright State Raiders logo has remained unchanged since at least 2015. The design is dominated by a large dog’s head. While the dog is depicted with a lot of attention to detail, it is not overloaded and represents a nice balance between minimalism and realistic manner. Below the dog, there is the lettering “Wright State” in white with yellow and black trim.

Wright State Raiders is the name of a collegiate athletic program fromWright State University in Ohio. The program is composed of 11 men’s and women’s teams, which compete in various sports disciplines in the first division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
1986 – 1997
The Wright State Raiders logo, used by the athletic program in the 1980s—1990s, featured a bright composition with a red-beard man in a green uniform, wearing a yellow helmet with horns, and holding a yellow axe in one hand, and a rounded shield with the “Wright State” inscription on it, in the other. The badge looked unusual and evoked a sense of speed, energy, and determination.
1997 – 2013
With the redesign of the Warriors’ logo, held in 1997, the athletic program at Wright State University got a new mascot — a brown dog. The animal was drawn in a bold geometric style, standing on a green banner with a two-leveled inscription, on a background with a dark orange setting Sun.
2013 – 2017
The redesign of 2013 has minimized and simplified the logo of the Wright State Warriors athletic program. The new concept featuredbold white lettering in a yellow outline with a sharp black shadow, set in one line under the head of the dog. The two elements of the badge were separated by a thick green line with uneven edges
