The athletic logo of the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, has been very consistent. Over the last four decades, the Vermont Catamounts logo has featured a large wild cat. There have been a couple of subtle updates, though.
Meaning and history
1981 – 1997
On the emblem introduced in 1981, we can see a wild cat leaping through a large dark green “V” with neon yellow trim.
1998 – Today
The structure of the following logo is pretty much the same. And yet, if you take a closer look at the subtle differences between the two emblems, you will notice the more recent version is more refined. The most obvious alteration is the richer palette.
