The 24 teams representing the athletic program of Union College compete under the names of Union Dutchmen (men’s teams) and Dutchwomen (women’s teams).
Meaning and history
The Union Dutchmen logo is very clean and minimalist, yet some may say it lacks identity. You can see a larger block “U” in a dark shade of red (garnet) with white and black trim. The letter features cut angles and belongs to a slab serif font. It looks pretty heavy and rough, which seems beneficial for a sports emblem.
The university’s official palette comprises two colors, garnet and white, both of which can be seen on the logo, where they are paired with black.
