Meaning and history

Saladix is a brand of snacks, established in 1995 in Argentina. The most popular product of the brand is classic baked snacks, which have been the star of the brand’s line from the first days.

Saladix won a place in the hearts of Argentines, especially teenagers, being one of the best-selling brands in the local food market.  In 2014, the brand expanded with its snacks for snacking, in formats and flavors that constantly surprise: potato chips, corn snacks, and sticks. Today, its Original, Cheddar, Barbacoa, and Picanto flavored potato chips, its corn snacks Quesitos, Panchitos, Baconzitos, and Pizzitas, and the Cross Sticks with their unmatched pizza flavor, can be found in any kiosk or self-service store in the country.

What is Saladix?
Saladix is a brand of salted snacks from Latin America, which was established in the middle of the 1990s in Argentina. The brand is a part of Arcor Group, one of the largest food production companies in its region.

In terms of visual identity, Saladix has been very consistent and prefers to experiment with the packaging backgrounds and ornaments rather than the main logo, which hasn’t changed much since the foundation of the company in 1995.

1995 – Today

Saladix Logo

The Saladix logo, used by the Argentinian brands for the most part of its history, is based on heavy elements in a clean bright white and red color palette, with the voluminous diagonally oriented oval with smooth darker shades, overlapped by two-leveled white lettering, with the enlarged title case “Saladix” in a custom narrowed cursive, and the uppercase “Snacks” in a distinctive sans-serif with sharp contours.

Font and color

Saladix Emblem

The heavily shadowed lettering in the title case of a custom cursive font from the primary logo of the Saladix brand is set in a smooth and elegant typeface with stable yet slightly narrowed characters. The closest fonts to the one, used in this insignia, are, probably, Squalo Bold Italic, or Anicon Sans Black Italic, but with some minor modifications of the contours.

As for the color palette of the Saladix visual identity, it is based on a combination of red and white, with some light-blue cold shades on the shadows of the characters. The palette makes the badge of the brand bright and visible on solid colorful backgrounds of the product’s packaging and represents the label as a professional and strong one.
