The athletic program of Purdue University Fort Wayne comprises 20 athletic teams. While they used to be called the IPFW Mastodons and Fort Wayne, the current name is the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.

The symbolism behind the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons logo is pretty transparent. A stylized mastodon is a perfect match for the name of the athletic program. The animal’s head is placed inside a black shield. The sharp tusks are clearly visible on both the sides.

On the top, the word “Purdue” in large gold letters can be seen. Below, there is the lettering “Fort Wayne” in smaller letters.

2016 – 2017

The original badge, designed for the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons program in 2016, featured a modern triangular crest in blue and white, with an enlarged image of a gray mammoth head, accompanied by an arched blue banner with the white serif “Fort Wayne” lettering, placed on top of the badge. It was a clean and fresh logo, which only stayed with the teams of the program for one season.
