Meaning and history

North Carolina Asheville Bulldogs logo history

On the North Carolina / Asheville Bulldogs logo introduced in 1982, the torso of the bulldog could be seen. The lettering “UNCA” was placed across its chest. In 1989, the palette was slightly altered, while the thin blue ring around the emblem disappeared.
In 1998, a completely different UNC Asheville Bulldogs logo was adopted featuring only the bulldog’s head and the team name. In 2006, the name of the teams was replaced by the large “A.”
