Haval is the name of a relatively young Chinese car brand, which was introduced by Great Wall Group in 2013. The sub-brand of an Asian automaking giant specializes in the production of big vehicles, such as crossovers and SUVs. The company sells its cars mainly to Asian and African countries, along with Latin America and Australia.
Meaning and history
The visual identity of Haval is pretty simple, yet elegant and perfectly reflects two main values of the brand — quality and reliability. The text-based logo is well-balanced in order to look solid and strong when placed on the vehicles, but it also looks good on printed materials and official documents.
2013 – 2023
The logo of Haval is composed of the wordmark, which is sometimes used on its own, and sometimes is enclosed in a bright red horizontally located rectangle.
The wordmark in all capitals is executed in a smooth and modern sans-serif typeface, where bold and sleek letters are slightly italicized. The main feature, which makes the inscription recognizable and unique — slightly arched and rounded left verticals of both letters “A” and the horizontal bar of “H”, which repeats their shape and style.
The nameplate is three-dimensional, executed in gradient silver with a delicate black outline and a small shadow. The metallic color of the letters looks great both on the scarlet red, second official brand’s color and on any monochrome background.
2023 – Today
The redesign of 2023 has introduced a laconic and confident version of the Haval logo, drawn in thick flat gray lines against a plain background with no framing. The inscription is set in a designer sans-serif typeface, with extra-bold geometric lines and an absence of the horizontal bars in the “A”s. The new Haval badge is all about strength and stability, which brilliantly represents the expansion of the company to the international markets.
