Festina is one of the brands of the Festina Group. The group also includes four other watches brands (Lotus, Jaguar, Candino, and Calypso) and two jewelry brands: Lotus Style and Lotus Silver.
Meaning and history
The history of the marque can be traced back to 1902. It was started as a watch manufacturer by the Stüdi family in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, in Switzerland. In 1985, it became part of the Festina-Lotus group.
You can come across several versions of the Festina logo, depending on the collection.
For instance, the official website showcases an intricate emblem inspired by medieval coats-of-arms. There is a shield topped by a crown. On both sides of the shield, there is a rampant stallion.
The name of the brand below is given in a type that may seem traditional due to its serifs. Yet, if you take a closer look, you will feel that the elegance of this font is of a modern, up-to-date type.
On the faces of the watches made by the brand, the wordmark is often used without the shield. Instead, you can see a stylized “F” inside an irregular quadrilateral. This version of the Festina logo is easier to reproduce.
