1947 – 1962

The Melroe logo, created in 1947, looked super strong and progressive for its times. It was a minimalistic black-and-white banner, with bold uppercase lettering in a custom cartoonish sand-serif typeface inscribed into a horizontally stretched oval medallion. The contrast of colors and clean lines of all elements made the badge recognizable and memorable.

1962 – 1972

The first logo with the cat was designed in 1962, and unlike the current version of the badge, it was executed in a black, white, and red color palette, where red was the leading one. Its smooth and calm shade was used for the image of a wild cat, drawn in full size on an oval badge, and accompanied by a bold black lettering. The monochromatic Melroe insignia was attached to the left part of the badge.

1972 – 2001

The redesign of 1972 introduced a laconic version of the Bobcat logo, with the stylized image of the cat’s head set on the left from a bold lowercase lettering in a futuristic sans-serif typeface, also in black. The sharp lines of the emblem were balanced by the heaviness and stability of the characters in the inscription.

2001 – now

In 2001 the Bobcats logo was refined, keeping the emblem untouched, but having the lettering completely reworked. The new inscription is set in the title case of a bold traditional sans-serif font with the slightly narrowed contours of the characters. With the new typeface, the logo started looking more professional and harmonious.
