What is Ballin?
Ballin is an Italian footwear brand, which was founded in 1940 on the banks of the Riviera del Brenta, in Fiesso d’Artico. The range includes not only shoes but also bags and small leather accessories.
The company was founded in 1945 by the Ballin brothers, Giorgio and Guido. But even though the brand was created a long time ago, even today the unique style of products and high-quality standards are still respected. Designers are constantly working to improve their technology for the production of excellent shoes.
Interestingly, during the first years of its existence, Ballin was mainly engaged in the production of briefcases and bags, as for the shoes, it was secondary. In only two years of its existence, the brand managed to achieve popularity all over Italy. The brothers felt the freedom of creativity and the opportunity to make something new out of the brand.
A few years later, The Ballin brothers conceived of producing not just shoes, but elegant products for affluent women, creating a cheerful carnival mood. The shoes were always richly decorated and looked like no other pumps.

2015 – 2017
The main part of the Ballin logo is, of course, the lettering. Set in the lowercase of a modern sans-serif typeface with rounded shapes but straight cuts of the lines, the inscription looks very friendly and contemporary. In addition to the wordmark, the Ballin logo also includes an icon that gives a hint about the type of company the logo belongs to. A stylized high-heeled shoe is supposed to be the embodiment of the style and elegance of the brand’s products. The shoe is placed inside a red square, while the square above the “i” is also red, which helps to create a connection between the wordmark and the icon.
2017 – Today
Font and color
The medium-weight lowercase Ballin logotype is set in a modern and clean sans-serif typeface, which is very close to such fonts as Geliat Alt Light and URW Geometric Arabic Light. It looks very stable yet feminine and playful, and this mood is supported by the small red square, replacing the dot above the “I”.
The color palette of the Ballin logo is based on a traditional red, black and white tricolor, which is one of the most elegant and timeless color combinations ever.
