1950’s

The original Ansett logo, designed at the beginning of the 1950s, looked very stylish and laconic. It was a bold script lettering in the title case set above a small agitation emblem with additional wordmarks on the sides. All elements were set in black and white, which made the badge look stylish and modern.

1968 – 1981

The redesign of 1968 introduced a completely different logo, with the geometric triangular emblem placed above the uppercase sans-serif inscription. The black-and-white color palette was switched to an intense red, which strengthened the distinctive contours of the emblem.

1981 – 1990

In 1981 the logo was modified again, with both the style and the color palette completely new. The graphical element was removed, and the logo now featured only a bold elegant wordmark with a solid dot at the end. The lettering was set in dark blue, with the modern sans-serif typeface replaced by a sophisticated serif one.

1990 – 1994

The redesign of 1990 changed the blue of the wordmark to purple, and extended the “Ansett” lettering to “Ansett Australia”, with the same dot placed at the end of the inscription. The typeface and style remained the same.

1994 – 2002

The last logo of Ansett was created in the middle of the 1990s and stayed in use by the company till 2002. It was an ornate logo with a square emblem placed above the modern sans-serif inscription. The emblem was set in blue, with the yellow letter “A”, where the horizontal bar was replaced by a white five-pointed star.
