Meaning and history

All American Hockey League (AAHL) logo

Taking into consideration the fact that the AAHL claimed the all-American status, it was only natural that its brand identity had been heavily inspired by the US flag. The red stripes on the white background were combined with stars. In comparison with the flag, the stars on the AAHL logo had an inversed color palette: they were blue on the white background.

Also, the All American Hockey League logo featured the abbreviation “AAHL” in large block capitals. The author of the emblem opted for an italicized serif typeface. You could also see a figure of a hockey player in blue over the red stripes and the full name of the league in smaller letters.
