Tulsa Golden Hurricane Logo PNG
The University of Tulsa, which is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, sponsors a comparatively popular athletic program comprising 18 varsity teams.
Meaning and history
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane logo is basically a crimson flag with a black patch. The flag is tied to a mast. The shape of the flag implies that the wind is blowing hard, which adds some dynamism.
In the forefront, you can see the word “Tulsa.” Instead of using a ready-made font, the designer decided to draw the word. As a result, we can see highly unique typography. It imitates handwriting and has a smooth, elegant feel. It also looks dynamic.
1985 – 1992
The team’s first logo was their name written in a blue cursive font with a white outline. Behind it, there are three lines in yellow, white and red.
1992 – 2014
The second logo designed for Tulsa was again its name in the same font. The color was slightly darker. The background was occupied by a mostly red banner with black bits in the middle.
2014 – 2016
The color palette was brightened slightly in 2014.
2016 – 2021
By 2016, they brightened the color scheme for the most part, which was especially visible with the flag.
2021 – Today
The 2021 logo has all the same elements as previously. The flag returned to its old, darker look, while the name got a bright blue typeface with a fat white outline.
