The Toledo Rockets logo has remained virtually the same since at least 1997.
Meaning and history
The athletic logo of the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, is based on pretty obvious imagery. The pictorial part of the emblem is represented by a rocket flying in the upward direction. The rocket is white with prominent dark blue trim.
The rocket is flying from behind the large word “Toledo.” In its turn, the word “Toledo” is yellow with thin dark blue trim. The typography featured here is unique. It is not a ready-made font but a design that had been drawn specifically for the logo of the Toledo Rockets.
