Microsoft is currently developing the Xbox Series X, a new-gen home video console. Supposedly, it will be released in late 2020, however, we can see the logo that will mark the device now.
According to a post on Reddit, Microsoft filed the Xbox Series X trademark application on April 16th. So far, the record is not assigned, but we can surely say that the new console will have a new emblem.
The logotype features a vertically-oriented word “Series” along with a big “X”. Having a laconic design, it reminds of some design solutions for the Xbox 360 as well as the Xbox One with a similar splits in the “X”. However, the Xbox Series X’s strokes are thicker and the gaps are larger. While the new logo follows the Xbox’s recognizable style, the slight changes in it tells that the Series X will differ from its predecessor. At the same time, the emblem can give a hint how the logotype for the Xbox Series S should look like – known as the Project Lockhart, it is developed as a base model with more modest specifications compared to the Series X console.
As for the Xbox Series X itself, it will have advanced hardware supporting a higher FPS rate and display resolutions. The console will be powered by the 8-core Zen 2 processor with frequency of 3.8 GHz. It will offer full compatibility with all the Xbox One’s accessories, controllers and games including Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk 2077, Warframe and others.
