The main professional baseball league in Puerto Rico has a recognizable logo featuring probably the most popular colors in the world of baseball logo design: red, blue, and white. However, they were chosen not only because of their popularity but as the colors of the national flag of Puerto Rico, too. The palette is complemented by black, which helps to create clearer lines.
The Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente logo features a side view of a baseball player’s head. The player is wearing a cap designed with reference to the flag of Puerto Rico.

Today

The designers approached the new logo design very creatively. They drew the Puerto Rican flag but made a few modifications. First of all, the blue triangle was stylized as a baseball player (Clemente) with his two hands forming the pointed end and the white star making a separation between the hands. The middle red stripe was thinner on one end to resemble the baseball bat. To the right of the flag, the logo had a golden “21” that was the same height as the flag. It combined straight, diagonal, and curved cuts, creating a very interesting geometric look.
