What is Eneos?
Eneos is the name of the largest Japanese oil corporation, which was established in 1888. The company is engaged in the manufacturing of petroleum and petrochemical products, along with fuel. Eneos has its subsidiaries in the United States and its petroleum stations under the brand Eneos EneJet.
1991 – 2002
The company, known today as Eneos, was established in Japan in 1991, under the name Nisseki. Hence, the original badge, which was used by the business for more than ten years, was based on its initial name. It was a bold sans-serif uppercase logotype with the stylized first “I”, placed on the right from a minimalistic geometric emblem. The emblem of Nisseki featured a solid red square with a smooth narrow white element at the bottom. As for the logotype, it was set in a fancy modern font, with the “I” having its red upper part separated from the black body by a thin white line, repeating the style of the emblem.
2002 – Today
Being a brand of one of the world’s most recognizable and influential gas and oil companies, Eneos has a bright and remarkable visual identity.
The Eneos logo is composed of a wordmark and an emblem on its left. The brand’s wordmark in all capital letters is executed in a modern and confident typeface with thick sharp lines, that look strong in black color.
The Eneos Emblem, which is also used by the brand as an icon, features a bright red square with an orange swirl pattern and the company’s name in white lettering, executed in the same typeface as the wordmark of the logo.
